Escapement explores the quiet ways we shape one another through fleeting moments of human connection. Told across two acts, each following the perspective of a different soloist, the work centers on their encounter. This brief interaction becomes an inflection point that alters the course of both lives.
Inspired by our experiences living in San Francisco and the transition from the structure of college into post-grad life, Escapement reflects on the ongoing negotiation between structure and freedom.
As the story unfolds, we invite you to consider how the people we encounter, whether lifelong companions or passing strangers, shape who we become, and how we each continually negotiate the balance between structure and freedom.
