Flux and Form

Flux and Form offers a formal platform for emerging choreographers to showcase their work. As recent college graduates, we were fortunate to have abundant resources and performance opportunities through our university. Since entering the Bay Area arts scene, we’ve found it increasingly difficult to access space, visibility and support as young artists. These challenges are compounded by recent cuts to arts funding and the loss of creative spaces—making it more important than ever to amplify our voices and build community.

We are curating a program featuring six pieces: three choreographed by us and three by other local emerging artists. The theme of the show is reflection and evolution. Each piece will explore looking back in order to move forward, and how we can stay grounded in our values as artists amid ongoing challenges.

As of now, two works are confirmed. Keep an eye out for the rest!

  • Tatianna’s piece, Socks, is an ensemble work originally performed in April 2025 and will be restaged for this program. Through playful movement and emotionally charged group sections, it explores the loss of childhood and the pressure to conform to societal expectations.

  • Teo’s work will be a continuation of their Soulmates project—an annual choreographic exploration of love and intimacy. The project began as a senior thesis and has evolved into an ongoing inquiry, with each iteration shaped by new relationships and lived experiences.
